My September 2007 build has never had a problem, so I guess the production tolerance was altered at the factory.
Overall the B 200 is very good but I'd rather have a Renault Scénic dCi to be honest, it's the huge stars on the thing and others' prejudices related to them that turn me a little off. Plus the Scénic is more versatile inside, and better styled. |

They reprogrammed it with a firmware update (after several visits) and the problem seems to be resolved.
But in their typical sloppy fashion they only tested out the driver side window. The passenger side was never tested/calibrated so it would appear that the auto-up was totally not working. |

What year is that one? The production of the bodyshells in 2005 and 2006 was iffy on the opening panels (doors and hatch), with lots of seam rust showing up in Europe. It should be pointed out to M-B, they do have a service bulletin about this in Europe.
Were you cleaning the roof with sandpaper? Later B 200s are supposdely better in the opening panel department (I hope so). This post has been edited by Mike T: Feb 13 2009, 11:39 PM |

They had to replace the window sticker for me. It wasn't a great job with some tiny bubbles. Worse still, they bent the window chrome trim.
The bushing on the front suspension sway bar was moving (creaky spring noise when going over bumps). They charged 4.2 hours. re/re bumper, radiator, sway bar, and a new Torsion Bar. Of course none of the above parts were in stock. This post has been edited by bill: Mar 19 2009, 12:53 AM |

Worse still, they bent the window chrome trim. [...] Of course none of the above parts were in stock. Does this mean that they now have to order a replacement part on the chrome trim and you'll have to wait some more and then return for yet another visit? I recall you having to follow-up with MB on practically all of their fixes or installs. When is the cost of all their screw-ups going to drive an improvement in their quality of work? Don't they audit this stuff, or do they even care? Maybe they're making such an obscene amount of profit on vehicle sales that they can afford to be lax in service. So they should be compensating YOU for the inconvenience of repeat visits. This post has been edited by spinner: Mar 19 2009, 10:16 PM |

I have to go back today anyway because the suspension is still making noise. They will replace the shocks this time. Again, not in stock. They are so many B's on the road and yet common parts are still not in stock. |

They are so many B's on the road and yet common parts are still not in stock. Probably because they get used up so fast lol. My gf's B200 just got a full overhaul, new trans (had a valve body problem), new suspensions. Before that visit, it had been in the shop for roof leak (have no sunroof, so no clue how/where), fan was stuck on...etc etc. She is so pissed off at the car I cannot even mention it in front of her without getting into trouble. And yes, we have the window button problem as well. The auto-up does not work, despite numerous fixes by the dealership. Just gave up on that. |

The coin-holding slots in the glove box door are a bad design, especially for a rigid suspension vehicle like this one. The coins loosen and fall from road bumps. Then, the loose coins can fall into the non-linear crack between the bottom of the glove box door and the glove box container. This is also a risk when fishing out the fallen coins. If coins are lost in the crack then there is some hope that the coins will eventually shimmy out and drop on the passenger's feet.

Why do they call them headrests in this car when they're more likely to give you a concussion?

Nothing to do with settings. The headrest whacks the back of the head on bumpy roads.
